Funniest Person in Houston (FPiH) submission is also your bid to the 4th Annual Riot Comedy Festival & Riot BBQ Cook-off held in Houston, TX tentatively April 2-9, 2027. The top 6 finalists in the FPiH advance to the National Comedy Contest for a chance to win up to $2500 and are official artists on the 4th Annual Riot Comedy Festival.

Prizes: 1st $500 2nd $100 3rd $40
Each Comic Gets a copy of their 1080p High Definition tape for each round with mixed audio.

FEES:

$30 until Aug 21 (40% off Early Bird Saver)
$40 until Aug 28st (25% off)
$50 until September 11th (Last Minute)

The Contest is capped at 72 contestants. It is decided by an audience vote (they must vote for top 2) Room booker breaks any ties. Show schedule:
Six(6) Preliminary Rounds: 12 comics each doing 4-6 min sets (3 advance from each show, 18 total) 
Thursday, OCT 1st 7pm & 9pm showtimes
Thursday, OCT 8th 7pm & 9pm showtimes
Thursday, OCT 15th 7pm & 9pm showtimes

Two (2) Semi-Final Rounds - 18 comics each doing 6-8min sets (3 advance from each show, 6 total) 
Thursday, Oct, 22nd 7pm & 9pm showtimes (3 advance from each show)

One (1) Final Round - 6 comics each doing 9-11min sets (all 6 advance to National Comedy Contest @ Riot Festival)
Thursday, 29th, 7pm showtime

We will request your avails on September 12th for the preliminary rounds. Once you have your time slot we cannot change the time.
